REVIEW: Guardians of the Galaxy May Be Best Marvel Movie Yet

REVIEW: Guardians of the Galaxy May Be Best Marvel Movie Yet

REVIEW: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
REVIEW: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel
has done absolutely amazing things in just a few short years. Not only have they launched multiple successful franchises with the likes of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, but they've managed to create an entire universe that connects them all (the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU). While they've hinted at the idea of a world beyond our own (and even took us to Asgard in the Thor films, we've really only gotten a glimpse of what lies beyond.

That all changed with their release of Guardians of the Galaxy.  In what could only be considered a huge gamble, Marvel took almost C list comic book characters and thrust them into the pop culture world as the headliners in their own movie. That gamble paid off in spades.

Guardians of the Galaxy is quite possibly the best Marvel movie yet - and that's saying quite a lot. With a franchise that now spans 10 films with such new classics as The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it's certainly a high barometer to hit. They've managed to do just that.

WATCH! Kevin Smith's Tusk Gets A Trailer

WATCH! Kevin Smith's Tusk Gets A Trailer

WATCH! Kevin Smith's Tusk Trailer Released
The trailer for Kevin Smith's new film Tusk has been released and it looks extremely interesting. People either love Kevin or hate him. We here at PCW are firmly in the "love him" category and those feelings are just cemented with the release of the trailer.

Tusk stars Justin Long as a travelling podcaster who interviews people and broadcasts their interesting stories. When he interviews Mr. Howe, and old seaman, things seem to spiral downward very quickly.
Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment, and Johnny Depp costar.

Check out the trailer for Tusk and decide if you'll catch it in theaters September 19, 2014.

WATCH! The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Trailer
It's here! The teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies has been released by Warner Brothers Pictures today. It looks absolutely epic and concludes The Hobbit trilogy leading us into the previously released The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This is a bit of a saddy for us here at Pop Culture Whore because this final chapter most likely means the end of Middle Earth adventures on the big screen for quite some time. Would anyone dare try and reboot Peter Jackson's masterpiece?

Check out the trailer below and catch The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on December 17, 2014.
