Prince Returns To Warner Brothers Records with New Music

Prince Returns to Warner Brothers Records with New Music, Remastered Classics

Prince to return to Warner with new music, remastered classics like Purple Rain
Prince Returns To Warner Brothers Records

In a bit of a shocking twist in an entire career of shocking twists, Prince announced today that he has re-signed with Warner Brothers Records. The deal will give him ownership of his vast catalogue of music including super hit albums like 1999 (, ) Controversy () and Purple Rain (). Purple Rain will see a re-issue with the album getting a remaster and bonus tracks for it's upcoming 30th anniversary in a similar fashion to Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusual 30th Anniversary celebration.

Prince states "A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Brothers Records and Eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship".

In 1993, Prince famously changed his name to a symbol  and wrote "Slave" on his face at live appearances to mark his disdain for his record label Warner Brothers. The issue was that Warner wanted him to release less music so they could better promote him, which angered The Artist Formally Known As Prince. In 2000, at the expiration of his contract, he changed his name back to Prince.

The last Top 40 hit by Prince was a 1998 re-issue of '1999' which hit #40. Prior to that, "I Hate U" hit #12 in 1995. His last album, 2009's Lotusflow3r / MPLSound hit #2 on the Billboard charts.

Are YOU excited for a new Prince album?

Mrs. Doubtfire Sequel is in the works
YES!!!! A sequel to the 1993 hit Mrs. Doubtfire is in the works and Robin Williams will be returning to the role. The classic film found an out of work actor in the middle of a divorce who dresses up in drag to take a job as nanny to his children.

Fox 2000 Pictures will reunite Williams with the director of Mrs. Doubtfire, Chris Columbus.

In related news Mara Wilson says that she will not return for a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel.

If you're wondering who in the H Mara Wilson is, she played Robin Williams and Sally Field's young daughter in the film. If you're wondering about her busy acting schedule and why she wouldn't return, we can't come up with a thing. Her last movie was Thomas and the Magic Railroad in 2000.

The Mrs. Doubtfire sequel is tentatively scheduled for a release in Winter 2016.

Are YOU excited for a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel? Do you think it could possibly live up the original? Tell us in the comments!

Tyler Perry Taking A Break From Movies

Tyler Perry Taking A Break From Movies
Writer / Director / Actor / Producer Tyler Perry will be taking a hiatus from movie making. The Hollywood Reporter says that Perry's long running contract with Lionsgate ended with the release of The Single Moms Club last month.  On his website, Perry wrote: "This is the first time in 10 years that I don't already have my next movie written or shot and ready to come out".

Fans of Perry (like The Whore) can rest easy though. He currently has four TV shows he's working on, all of them on OWN. The Haves and the Have Nots is a huge hit for OWN racking up over 3 million viewers each week. Love Thy Neighbor enjoys success in the sitcom arena, while For Better or Worse made its transfer from TBS to OWN. The fourth, The Single Moms Club continues the story told in the movie and will debut in the Fall.

The hiatus from movie making will only be temporary, but will probably not be releasing multiple films a year, as he has done thus far.

What do YOU think? Was Perry taking on too much? Tell us in the comments!
