2012 Oscar Nominations Announced!

The Nominations have been announced for the 2012 Oscars and it was actually a really great year! Hugo lead the nominations with 11 nods including Best Picture. The Artist, probably our pick for the best film of last year, was nominated 10 times, also including Best Picture. Some surprised were a complete snub for Leonardo DiCaprio's J Edgar and a nod for Melissa McCarthy for her turn in Bridesmaids. She should win it!

It will include 130 hours of special features, including one hour of brand new special features. Further, it will be the first time nine of the Bond films have hit Blu Ray. Set List For Madonna Super Bowl 46 Show?

The highest selling female artist of all time, Madonna, will be performing at this years Super Bowl 46.

The tentative set list for now is:

Gimme All Your Luvin (with Nicki Minaj)
Ray Of Light
Music
Vogue
Holiday

While this setlist debuts the lead single off of her new album, M.D.N.A., it also incorporates some of her massive hits spanning  her 25 year plus career. While we're sure this is tentative,  it does touch upon a huge hit from each decade, but leaves some obvious choices out (4 Minutes, Hung Up, Like A Prayer, etc). When you have 37 Top 10 Billboard hits (more than any other artist in history), it's going to be hard to choose.

The 12 minute and 40 second show is bound to be amazing, with rumors of  Cirque du Soleil and the Indianapolis Gay Men's Choir joining the show, this truly could be the greatest show on earth.

Wow! Rihanna A Little To Big For Her Britches

We REALLY hope that this was taken out of context. Singer Rihanna tells Look Magazine:

"There's nobody really in my league. There's competition everywhere. The whole music industry is competition. There are people who like other artists, those who like me and others who like both. Beyonce is a great artist, and I feel honored to be mentioned in the same sentence, but we're different performers with different styles."
She goes on to say that the one artist she admires most is Madonna. We think Rihanna might want to take a long hard look at her career, which only started in 2005, before she starts rattling off such egotistical nuggets like that. Guess she's never heard of Lady Gaga? Or Katy Perry? Although they both write their own material, so maybe she's right in that there's no one in the league of currently super successful singers who don't write their own material, don't produce music and don't play an instrument. Oh nevermind, Britney's in that category & she's been doing it better and for more than twice as long.

Oprah's OWN Hits Ratings Record

Oprah'ssOWN seems to finally be gaining traction as it hit a ratings high this past Sunday with the second episode of Oprah's Next Chapter. Oprah's interview with Pastor Joel Osteen drove in 1.6 million viewers. Whats even more impressive is that was an increase from the series premiere the prior Sunday with American Idol judge Steven Tyler which hit 1.1 million viewers on New Years Day. The huge jump in viewership has also been great for Oprah's Master Class, with it's most recent episode netting over 950,000 viewers.

Apple To Announce New iPhone Oct 4th

FINALLY! In what has broken their typical June announcement, Apple will unveil their newest iPhone on Tuesday October 4th. There has been rampant speculation on what the next iteration of the top selling phone in the world will be. Will it be an iPhone 4S - an incremental upgrade with souped up internals? Or will it be an iPhone 5 - a completely revamped phone? Apple will also announce the release of iOS5, which has a ridiculous amount of new features - including the ability to text free to anyone on any carrier that has an iOS device (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, etc).

Even though Our Lord & Savior Steve Jobs will probably not be there, we are still SUPER STOKED!

Will you be glued to your computer?

Gaga Dedicates Song To Jamey Rodemeyer

As you may know, 14 year old Jamey Rodemeyer succumbed to the bullying of his being a homosexual
and took his own life last week. Rodemeyer was a huge Lady Gaga fan and even made his own "It Gets Better" video. Our Mother Monster dedicated her performance of "Hair" to Jamey at the iheartradio festival over the weekend. It was easily the best performance of the night and it was absolutely moving.

Bullying is for losers!
