Top US Box Office: Feb 24 - Feb 26 2012

Opening at #1 in it's first weekend is Relativity Media's Act Of Valor with $24.7 million. What started out as a short training video spawned into a full fledged theatrical movie with a cast made up mostly of actual Navy SEALS. The Navy has actually stated Act Of Valor will be a recruiting video for future SEALS. With a budget of only $18 million, 'Valor' is an instant success.

In it's first weekend in theaters, Tyler Perry's Good Deeds opened in second place with $16 million. His last film, Madea's Big Happy Family, opened with $25 million in 2011, but his last non-Madea related film, For Colored Girls, opened with $20 million in 2010. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island continues to perform well for Warner Brothers, netting $13.47 in it's third week in theaters. The family film is $10 million ahead from Journey To The Center Of The Earth, in it's comparable third weekend. The Vow took a huge 57% hit in it's second week bringing in $10 million, for a $30.3 million total. It's currently made over $105 million worldwide, so it's more than tripled it's $30 million budget. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D adds another $3.1 million in it's third week in release for a $40 million + total.

Next week will see Dr. Suess' The Lorax up against Project X. Lorax is trending easily to be the top film of the weekend.

Chris Brown Steals Fan's Phone; Could Get 4 Years In Jail

As everyone has been saying for the last 3 years, a tiger doesn't change his stripes. The infamous anger issues of Chris Brown, are once again getting him into trouble. In Miami on Sunday, a female fan snapped a picture of Ike Chris Brown getting into his car. Apparently, Chris wasn't happy with a supporter taking a picture of him from the sidewalk. Instead, he reached out the window, grabbed the iPhone out of the fans hand and said, "Bitch, you ain't going to put that on no website". He then drove off WITH THE PHONE!

The fan called police (from someone else's phone) who retrieved the phone and charged the woman beater with "one count of robbery by sudden snatching". Brown, of course, is claiming that these allegations aren't true. That might have something to do with the fact that the Los Angeles District Attorney, the same one who handled his Rihanna / Woman Beating case, is watching this VERY closely. They are awaiting a reply from the probation department. If Brown is found guilty he will have broken his probation terms and will head to jail for four years! Perfect!!! We know how jail takes to angry woman beaters with over inflated egos. Let's send him there.

Dad & Sons Tape Madonna Super Bowl Show

This video was taken via phone by a Dad and his two sons from the Super Bowl. Their excitement and enthusiasm at the spectacle that is a Madonna show is heartwarming. Our favorite part? " Oh Sweet Mother Mary Good Lord Baby Jesus, that was AWESOME!!"

Drunk Man Fights At Disney California Adventure

A very drunk man seemed to cause some sort of altercation in Disney California Adventure on Saturday. Apparently, the man was drunk and began arguing with the bellhops at the Tower Of Terror ride. After being pepper sprayed by an elderly employee, the man began hitting him. Disney guests came to his aid and subdued the man until police arrived. The man was arrested and given a citation.

To the annoying lady who keeps yelling "Stop!" from 10 feet away - the drunk man can't hear you & obviously wouldn't care what you have to say. It is however, an EXTREME annoyance to your fellow patrons. In fact, the only thing you contributed to the situation was to unveil your ear piercing wail to the world. Did you honestly think the man was going to suddenly go "Oh shoot! I'm so sorry everyone! The annoying lady screaming 'Stop' repeatedly has made me see the error of my ways. I apologize!"

DISGUSTING! Rihanna & Chris Brown Duet..TWICE!!

This is ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Not only have Rihanna & Chris Brown been interacting on Twitter recently, but they've actually gone and performed on each others new tracks. This is absolutely sickening. Rihanna is showing the world, particularly young females, that when a man beats you to a bloody pulp you not only forgive them, but go on to willingly work with them. This is a HORRENDOUS message to send to people. Rihanna needs help. She needs to be free of this abusive cycle. People don't physically abuse just once. And Chris Brown's anger problem hasn't gotten any better. SUCH a sad, sad day.

And for those who will question why I choose to put these pictures up of Rihanna in Rihanna and Chris Brown articles, it is because Rihanna wants us to forget what he did to her. The world doesn't forget. And they shouldn't forget. Physical abuse should NEVER be forgotten. Chris Cornell Sings "I Will Always Love You"

Former Soundgarden / Audioslave front man (& one time Bond theme song crooner) Chris Cornell performed an acoustic cover of Dolly Parton / Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". This was performed at a fundraiser for President Obama. The raw vocals coupled with the spare guitar is absolutely gorgeous! Check it out!

What an incredible few weeks Madonna has had. After breaking viewership records with her Super Bowl Half Time performance, breaking all sorts of records with the pre-order of her soon to be released new album, MDNA, and an instantly sold out tour, it never stops. Her newest single, Give Me All Your Luvin' has hit Billboard Hot 100 at #10 in its first full week on the charts. GMAYL marks Madonna's 38th Top 10 hit. Two more Top 10 hits than Elvis! OMFG THE INTERNETZ WILL SHUT DOWN & LIFE AS WE KNOW IT WILL CEASE TO EXIST! All because a video of Justin Bieber screaming "F*ck you" to some fans in Disneyland has surfaced.

Now we don't know what happened before this, but it looks like some teenage girl Beliebers (are there any other kind?) were filming Justin on a ride with Selena Gomez and his Dad. I guess Justin didn't feel like these girls needed Somebody To Love.

The Amazing Spider-Man Full Trailer!

Well it's here, folks. The full trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has hit the interwebs. It's being billed as "the untold story" even though it's retelling the same story that was told just 10 years ago in the first Spider-man - but who's keeping track, right?

I'm still not exactly sure why they needed to reboot this when the last movie came out 5 years ago. It looks decent enough. Definitely a little bit darker, but why did we have to go with the "Spider-man as a teenager" route? And they used the typical Hollywood trick of almost thirty year old's playing high schoolers. It's like "Saved By The Spider-Bell". Stupid.

In any event, here's the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man which hits theaters July 3, 2012.

The Voice Season 2 Debuts To Super Numbers

The Super Bowl certainly helped out the second season premiere of NBC's The Voice. The show premiered immediately after the Super Bowl to a whopping 37 million viewers. This more than doubled best ratings The Voice ever had. Further, it was the highest rated post Super Bowl slot since 2006 when Greys Anatomy reached 35 million viewers. It was much improved over last year's Glee post Bowl episode, which hit 26 million viewers.

The Voice Season 2 continues tonight, on it's regularly scheduled night on NBC.

Adam Lambert NOT Joining Queen

OK, so after last week's post on confirmation that Adam Lambert would be joining Queen, Adam Lambert now confirms that he's NOT joining the band.  Lambert said through his Twitter that the quotes were taken out of context & he was referring to his performance with the band last November, NOT future dates. Lambert states, "Them clever reporters taking my quotes outta context... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMAs... That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions."

So, for now, Freddie Mercury remains irreplaceable. For now...

The Pop world has spoken as MDNA is already #1 on iTunes Top Album Chart in the US & 40 (!!!) other countries, almost 2 months before its release. Adam Lambert To Be Front Man For Queen

The rumors have been swirling since Adam Lambert was a contestant on American Idol, but that rumor just became fact. Lambert will join Queen as the front man for the group, starting with a tour.

If you remember, the 2009 American Idol finale featured Lambert singing  "We Are The Champions" with Queen. Soon after, Brian May stated they would be elated to work with singer in the future. That came to fruition in November when he joined the band at the MTV Europe Music Awards to sing some of their greatest hits to wide acclaim.

Now, both Queen and Lambert have confirmed that he will be hitting the road with the legendary band throughout 2012. Currently, Lambert is promoting "Better Than I Know Myself", the lead single off of his forthcoming second album, Trespassing.
